1996 Pontiac Sunfire SEAbout This Vehicle:
This car is a salvage title(wasent really in bad shape at all!) so it was repaired by a local guy who did a wonderful job it is imaculate! it has a 98' 2.2 and is a 96' car while my main focus is not necesseraly performance, I do however love electronics,and it shows in its A/V system. The car is not set up for SPl(although those cars are cool) I am a stickler for sound quality, I want my vechicle to sound just as good as my THX certified home theater (no easy task). MODIFICATIONS
Engine:- 200 amp alternator (rebuilt by GM)
- RK-sport shift improver
- 4" Cone air Filter (love that Intake noise) by APC
Suspension/Wheels/Brakes:- Rims off of a 85' cavalier powdercoated by my fathers company white (my accent theme is white
Interior:- all vents painted white(with black dash look great!)
- APC seatbelt pads
Exterior:- Miss decals by Ap-signworks for the various pieces of equipment in the vechicle
- Toucan HID look headlights
- Off road round fog lamps
Audio:- Panasonic CQ-DF602U (main headunit)
- blaupunkt honolulu CD-50 (for wireless headphones)(both units stacked in a now double din opening in my dash)
- up front are blaupunkt 5 1/4" components
- rear 4x6 Rockford fosgate fanatic speakers(with component x-over and tweter added
- amps consist of one kenwood KAC-829 2-channel for the subs
- the kenwood is compacitated by a malroy 3/4 farad cap that came from a television transmitter from the TV station I worked at KFXB TV(now closed)
- A Kenwood KAC-5201 2-cannel amp to drive the Components
- one citizen lcd monitor in driver seat headrest
- Initial portable DvD palyer feeds the video side (is used up front)
- the dvd's audio track can be heard through the wireless headphones and/or through the main unit
- wires and cable by monster cable- 4 AWG power all necessary RCA and the like
- subs are 2 12" pioneer IMPP subs the box is a 3.45 cubic feet sealed box (respectable 120.2 DB)
- wireless headphones by unwired (ment for home use but transmitter fit into dome light perfect!)
- All of this installed by me I cant see paying someone to do something that is so fun!
Miscellaneous:- Up graded alternator charging lead with 8 AWG direct to battery (really stiffened up the power supply would deffinatly reccomend this to anyone!)
Future:- Somthing anything for the motor? I'd love suggestions! really this car is complete for me it's SQ is incredable and with the video stuff can keep you entertained while impressing people.
but as with anything am always trying new things and I am sure somthing new and cool will come along
- Definaly Super Audio CD or DVD-audio would be nice but who really can afford that?
