LAS VEGAS – Pontiac performance gets hotter again in 2007 with an array of vehicles sure to entice customers with a passion for driving and a flair for style.
Heading up Pontiac's lineup for'07 is the turbocharged Solstice GXP, which is powered by an Ecotec 2.0L engine with variable valve timing that produces 260 horsepower (194 kW) . The Solstice GXP’s engine also features gasoline direct injection technology, GM’s first offering of its kind in North America , and the most powerful in the Ecotec family. The exterior enhancements on the GXP include high-polished stainless steel dual exhaust outlets, and front and rear fascia extensions.
The midsized G6 adds a new powerplant to its list of available features. GM’s highly regarded 3.6L V-6 with variable valve timing is standard on the top-of-the-line G6 GTP model. The state-of-the-art engine is mated to an advanced electronically controlled, six-speed automatic transmission.
New for'07, the G5 offers sport coupe performance in a compact design. The G5 is available in a base and GT model, and features Pontiac's signature twin-port grille, clean lines and standard rear spoiler. The G5 models, built on GM’s global small car platform, are powered by GM Powertrain’s Ecotec premium four-cylinder engines .

Pontiac models for 2007:
G5 – The G5 base model features a standard Ecotec 2.2L DOHC I-4 that produces 148 horsepower (110 kW) and 152 lb.-ft. of torque (206 Nm). The higher performance GT produces 173 horsepower (129 kW) and 163 lb.-ft. of torque ( 221 Nm) with its standard Ecotec 2.4L DOHC I-4 with variable valve timing. Both models are equipped with a standard five-speed manual transmission and an available electronically controlled four-speed automatic transmission.
G6 – From the base four-cylinder sedan up to the GTP performance models, the G6 continues to delight a whole new generation of Pontiac enthusiasts with functional, alluring design and sporty performance. The G6 is available as a sportier sedan, sleek coupe and convertible that features an innovative all-weather retractable hardtop. All G6 models have driver-oriented interiors with refined controls and instrument layouts.
Grand Prix – Grand Prix continues to be the perfect blend of excitement and practicality. Five new exterior colors adorn the family-friendly, midsize sedan that combines big car roominess with the performance and agility of a sports sedan. The'07 Grand Prix lineup includes the well-equipped Grand Prix, the sporty Grand Prix GT and the Grand Prix GXP.
The Grand Prix is powered by the renowned 3.8L V-6, which is rated at 200 horsepower (145 kW), while the Grand Prix GT comes with the 3.8L supercharged V-6 that delivers 260 horsepower (186 kW). The GXP is powered by a 5.3L V-8 with Active Fuel Management technology, which regulates between eight- and four-cylinder operations for improved fuel economy in certain light-load driving situations. It is rated at 303 horsepower (226 kW).
Solstice – Solstice, the sleek and seductive roadster, turns up the power and performance with the addition of the Ecotec 2.0L direct injection turbo GXP model. Rated at 260 horsepower (194 kW) and 260 lb.-ft. of torque (353 Nm), the Solstice GXP’s engine produces 47 percent more power than the one equipped in the Solstice base model.
The Solstice and new Solstice GXP are true sports cars with a near 50/50 weight distribution for balanced handling and feel. The'07 models continue to be well-equipped with a variety of comfort and convenience items appreciated by enthusiastic drivers.
Torrent – Torrent blends the road manners of a car with the capabilities and versatility of an SUV in a fun-to-drive package that is perfect for families. Torrent continues to expand the brand’s performance technologies with a host of safety, ride and convenience enhancements for 2007, including the StabiliTrak electronic stability control system, front and rear disc brakes, and tire pressure monitoring system.
Torrent is powered by a 3.4L V-6 that generates 185 horsepower (138 kW) and 210 lb.-ft. of torque (285 Nm) at 3800 rpm. The engine is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission featuring multiple shift schedules that adapt to varied load conditions.
Vibe – Vibe is a versatile crossover vehicle that offers a blend of performance, style and substance. Ideally suited to active lifestyles, Vibe offers a host of audio/information systems, including XM Satellite Radio and a new optional ETR AM/FM stereo with CD player and MP3 playback.
Vibe is equipped with a dual-overhead cam 1.8L I-4 engine that produces 126 horsepower (94 kW) and 122 lb.-ft. of torque (165 Nm). The engine uses variable valve timing to optimize fuel economy and performance.
