Spoke to my friend Emile today. Emile is black, and from a family of GM workers. Sounds like he'd absolutely be a democrat right? A few years ago, that would be true. Seems lately though, he's shifting way to the right on many issues. The only exception is on abortion. He's still pro abortion.
He told me he and his new bride were discussing politics, and suddenly he realized he wasn't a democrat anylonger.
He likes the idea of charter schools, a flat tax, lower business taxes, right to carry handgun, anti gay marriage, and no affirmative action....and despises Obamacare.
All he's got on the left side is the abortion. I told him he's a closet republican and it's time to "come out".
I asked what was the turning point. He summed it up: I realized that my thinking now was "what can I do to make my life better" instead of what policies could DC do that could benefit me "as a black man".
Score 1 for the good guys. Feels like 1994 all over again flas.

im anti gay marriage
im anti affirmative action
pro english speaking country
pro border control/illegal alien crackdown
I could care less about guns either way
Charter schools arent any better, education as a whole needs an entirely new start from the ground up
Flat tax only benefits the rich, take 10% of someone making 20k a year it hurts them a lot more than it does someone making 200k a year, they are rich enough to afford it. Instead of worrying about who is taxed what percent, spend the money better
One could classify my views as right wing yet most of the time I vote democrat. Why because I share nothing in common with a 72 year old man that cannot use a computer and a retarded woman thats insanely hot.. I am a middle class single guy thats white. Niether rich nor poor. I'm not religous, yet I am tolerant of others beliefs even though most aren't of mine because it doesn't agree with theirs. I speak English, law abiding citizen, registered voter, and pay my bills and taxes. As a middle class American your screwed out of any tax breaks. As a student your screwed out of scholarships because your white. Possibly not accepted to certain colleges or jobs because the institution is worried about how "diversified" they are. There is no political party, nor canidate that works for me. The political landscape as a whole right now does not fight for any cause thats important to me or affects me.

It's Rodimus, you're just wasting your time...
fortune cookie say: better a delay than a disaster
I think rodimus may have puled his own a$$clown card on this post, unusual.....
flat taxes do not hurt one more than the other, simple reason, there are soo many tax breaks you can get it isnt funny. Riddle me this rodimus, why can I bring in $75k in 2009 compared to whatever you earn, which i suppose is $20k based on your comments, but pay less taxes? Because the income tax was designed as a way to punish the wealthy, and pay for progressive(liberal with purpose) social policies, which btw have done nothing for the average american. As programs cost more they needed more money, but since most people you consider wealthy are also that way because they got off their butts and actually became productive, they were able to get tax breaks associated with how they earn their income. This whole make the rich pay for things has led to class envy and a bunch of belligerence. Why should a country where all men are created equal not be the same insofar as the burden placed on an individual by the government. If the system would not be able to run with the lower amount collected, maybe we need to look at why the hell the government is running deficits instead of balancing their books like any other responsible entity...
Your reply sir.
I hate the 2 party system. IMHO it just leads to one group infighting with the other over policies and strategies meant to help.
look at Obamacare. It's a truly awful unAmerican idea nobody wants yet the Democrats want to ram it though and make it happen just to piss of Republicans. How does that help us when they are just playing games to piss each other off. A democrat comes up with a good idea a republican shoots it down because they hate democrats...and vice versa. This is exactly what is wrong in the current 2 party system and why i am an independent. I despise both parties for being money grubbing, lying sacks of sh*t that don't do ANYTHING for the people by the people.
When I vote I'm not lazy, i don't let celebrities and the media pick my candidate (like they did with Obama). I read about their views, where they stand, What they're record is. I could care less if Obama is charming...can he run our country? I don't care if Bush's dad was president...can he run our country?
both answers are no.
But both got by on glossy packaged personas. I hope was can all get over singing kumbia and how we made history with the first black president and in 2012 people will finally realize you have to READ about people running don't just vote because the candidate was charming on Oprah, or plays the Sax on Arsenio, or the guys dad was president once. And actually make an EDUCATED decision.

Why is it "unusual" for someone to like certain Right Wing economic and/or political policies, but still support abortion? In other words, what in God's name does one even have to do with the other?
The sad fact is simply this...most right-wingers detest abortion for one simple reason...they've been told to, and as obedient sheep, they go along with it.
Fcuk both parties. They have most Americans completely in their thrall. It's appalling.
You nailed it on the head man.
Vote for the man, not the party.
Oh, and prime, For me it comes down to this about the last race.
One man can say other men owe him there lives.
The other can not.
Know who's who?

Well, war "heroes" aside...what if we consider the lives "Barry's" community organizer work likely saved? Would that be a sufficient neutralizer to your essentially irrelevant point about presidential qualifications?
Likely saved, and did save, are worlds apart my friend.
And I am by no means saying this was a good choice, but out of the two...
and that just drives home your point, we need to get out of the two party sh!t. the "us vs them" attitude.

Well said. I give you credit for not saying we should just bomb Kenya out of existence!
Most of that is to get out "Pontiac" friend all stirred up.
But.... If i were given orders to tack back a town over there with my Marines... it would have fallowed with a " after the dazycutter runs are done"

Well for me being a war hero was not enough for me to give a vote to McCain. His policies on immigration were totally unAmerican.
And Although I absolutely loved how Obama just got under Hilary Clintons skin and pissed her off, his entire agenda and vision of America, and the people he surrounded around himself is unAmerican. And he has very little to no experience, So he didn't get my vote.
And Clinton just sucked. Honestly to vote her in was no better than voting for GWB. There was no good reason to give her the job other than her name.
We were headed into a deep recession worse than the depression we needed a person with a solid background in finance and could fix the economy that would have been Mitt Romney. But no instead all we could do is listen to Oprah, MSNBC, CNN, The View and countless celebrities that pushed Obama on us 24/7 through the media. Why?
because it would be history?
Because he speaks so well?
he clearly had no experience?
had very unAmerican beliefs?
had very openly radical friends and mentors?
He even has said in so many words in his own words, in books HE wrote that he's a socialist.
America was star struck and simply voted for Obama for all the wrong reasons. To use a quote Jurassic Park ..."were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should"...
I hope the next 4 years is a wake up call to everyone that you don't need to vote for another party "just" to send a message, just pick the right guy or gal for the job. Mitt Romney is a republican but is no George Bush. Somehow we got stuck with a media whore, a clueless old man, and a bitch with a Napoleon complex. 2 were picked for name recognition alone the last was a media darling. Nobody bothered to look at if any of these tools had the right agenda they just went by what their favorite news station or celebrity liked.
You can't look at the party, or media hype, you need to look at the person and their stand.

I'm with you 100%.
All I am saying is this, out of the two it literary was ( ya its a pun, hate me, I'm used to it) black and white.

Did everyone forget that this country was built by illegal immigrants? Native Americans are the only one who can rightfully complain about illegal immigrants. Most of us are only fourth or fifth generation at the most.
We kicked their butts off the land after we conquered them, broke treaties etc. As such, it is acceptable for anyone else to do it too. Also, because all nations/ tribes have risen to power through military victories in some form, no one in the worl can say "naughty naughty" to a new aggressor. After all, we're all guilty

we used to own slaves as well does that mean i can go out and get me a slave
there is a huge diffrence to me between a person that wants to come to this country, goes thru the process legally and does it the right way versus the fence jumper who's first act of entering this country is breaking the law.
