anyone else think it's a bad thing when even Russia is calling us a bunch of Marxist idiots?

Quote:

It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists.

Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our "democracy". Pride blind the foolish.

Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different "branches and denominations" were for the most part little more then Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more then happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the "winning" side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the "winning" side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox churches are scandalously liberalized in America.

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America's short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more then another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.

These past two weeks have been the most breath taking of all. First came the announcement of a planned redesign of the American Byzantine tax system, by the very thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts, loses and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars. These make our Russian oligarchs look little more then ordinary street thugs, in comparison. Yes, the Americans have beat our own thieves in the shear volumes. Should we congratulate them?

These men, of course, are not an elected panel but made up of appointees picked from the very financial oligarchs and their henchmen who are now gorging themselves on trillions of American dollars, in one bailout after another. They are also usurping the rights, duties and powers of the American congress (parliament). Again, congress has put up little more then a whimper to their masters.

Then came Barack Obama's command that GM's (General Motor) president step down from leadership of his company. That is correct, dear reader, in the land of "pure" free markets, the American president now has the power, the self given power, to fire CEOs and we can assume other employees of private companies, at will. Come hither, go dither, the centurion commands his minions.

So it should be no surprise, that the American president has followed this up with a "bold" move of declaring that he and another group of unelected, chosen stooges will now redesign the entire automotive industry and will even be the guarantee of automobile policies. I am sure that if given the chance, they would happily try and redesign it for the whole of the world, too. Prime Minister Putin, less then two months ago, warned Obama and UK's Blair, not to follow the path to Marxism, it only leads to disaster. Apparently, even though we suffered 70 years of this Western sponsored horror show, we know nothing, as foolish, drunken Russians, so let our "wise" Anglo-Saxon fools find out the folly of their own pride.

Again, the American public has taken this with barely a whimper...but a "freeman" whimper.

So, should it be any surprise to discover that the Democratically controlled Congress of America is working on passing a new regulation that would give the American Treasury department the power to set "fair" maximum salaries, evaluate performance and control how private companies give out pay raises and bonuses? Senator Barney Franks, a social pervert basking in his homosexuality (of course, amongst the modern, enlightened American societal norm, as well as that of the general West, homosexuality is not only not a looked down upon life choice, but is often praised as a virtue) and his Marxist enlightenment, has led this effort. He stresses that this only affects companies that receive government monies, but it is retroactive and taken to a logical extreme, this would include any company or industry that has ever received a tax break or incentive.

The Russian owners of American companies and industries should look thoughtfully at this and the option of closing their facilities down and fleeing the land of the Red as fast as possible. In other words, divest while there is still value left.

The proud American will go down into his slavery with out a fight, beating his chest and proclaiming to the world, how free he really is. The world will only snicker.

So.... when is it that things start to be done to get this back on track? When do we decide as the Founding Fathers did, that measures need to be taken?

Am I now a government employee once more, but this time not in the Marine Corps, but with GM?

GM now stands for Government Motors

I think GM had no business going to the Government for help. now the government wants to control every private business in America, That's what's coming. Regulate salaries and bonuses.

Nice read. How Ironic will it be when some other country has to come in and "spread democracy" to the US.

well if it wasnt for government involvement GM would have closed their doors months ago, the fact that they are going to have a chance to exist is better than none at all

perhaps if they werent run so poorly they wouldnt be in this spot, so don't blame the government for making changes

Actually, had they not taken government money at all, they would have been in bankruptsy court earlier, and most likely with less meddling of the Obama administration, which would have given them a better chance of restructuring.

And the entire premise of capitalism is survival of the fittest, so government intervention of any kind is f&$king that up. What drove them into the ground was stupid contracts with the UAW. The government is pretty much forcing the bankruptsy to ignore this contract. They are getting a freeze, but they are not addressing the root problem, which is legacy costs. Until those are gone, a US automaker will not be able to truly compete.

The United-States isn't becoming socialistic in the least. Instead Capitalism is being twisted in order to create a kind of Authoritarian Oligarchy. And don't get into Liberals VS Conservatives because they're both in on it. Such a system would benefit whoever was in power. Sure, the Conservatives might use the people's fear of a more meddling government in order to gain votes, but it wouldn't do much to stop it. It IS the government, as much as the Liberals are.

The problem with the USSR was never it's socialist ideas, but the power hungry dictators in charge. If you look at Socialism without prejudice you'll see that it's ideals aren't bad. Yes it's a bunch of unworkable and utopian nonsense, but it's not evil. It's not destructive in and of itself. Instead, it was used as a weapon by the rulers in order to have a stronger handhold on the people. Capitalism can be misused in the exact same way, and it is being used that way now.

The problem is that your rulers think they're better and smarter than you and have utterly no fear whatsoever of being taken out of power. When the Republicans screw up too much, they just pass the wand over the Democrats to let them screw up for a while; and when the people are tired of the Donkey's, the Elephants come trundling back. It's just back and forth BS. No party thinks it's lost the vote for more than a decade. No party has anything to fear from the people, nor will they ever.

so by that statistic i could prove that if a guy kills 3 people, and you compare those 3 people he killed to the entire population of the united states it wouldnt see like a big deal at all???

it really doesnt matter what percentage is owned, its the fact that that door is now opened and starting. its not something that should be done.

lets look at what happened. gm went bankrupt. it will likely get reorganised, stay open and continue on. and america footed the bill for 50 billion dollars. money that we now are paying. if obama had just let gm go under, they would have went bankrupt, reorganised and stayed open and continued but we wouldnt be paying 50 billion dollars.

a company like that doesnt turn around and make money over night, even i new that the money they asked for wasn't enough to do any good. it was basically just thrown away and were going to be the ones paying for it.

This really hits the heart of the problem. The precident has been set, and there is no telling how far they will take it. Also, they may not control that many assets, but having 60% control in the largest auto maker in the country means that they will affect a huge portion of the manufacturing in general in this country indirectly, since there are tons of smaller companies whos' primary business is supplying the auto makers. What if the government isn't happy with the deal GM is striking with a supplier? Will they start puting pressure on them to force their hand? You can see the slippery slope this type of thing can lead to.

And to really put your analogy into perspective, if someone murders 100 people, then by the argument of this chart, they wouldn't really be a mass-murderer, because they will have "only" killed .00003% of the population.

Guarantee this, if Obama would have done nothing we would not have heard the end of it that he did nothing for America's largest company. No matter what happened nobody is going to be content with his actions.
Looks like the reason DC was giving them money was because DC did the mistake of listening to the heads of GM/ DCX thinking that these guys knew what they were talking in order to save the company.
Big mistake, the same folks that ran it to the ground were now begging for money and said "we can fix it." That failed, now lets see where this route goes. Like so many Government subsidised auto companies in Europe, ie VW, BMW, FIAT, etc we can only hope it can be as successful as theirs. We did it for Chrysler 30 years ago, maybe just maybe we can do it again. (?)

BTW, for the second month in a row GM has posted better numbers. A sign?

i could care less who bitches about it if it would save the american people 50 billion dollars it doesnt have.

what better numbers are we talking about ,are we talking profit? or are we just talking amount of cars sold? doest matter how many cars your selling if your not turning a profit on them. not to mentione what months are recorded. chances are and im just assuming here as usuall but i'd bet that more cars get sold during the spring and summer months then in the winter,

Much how a 50 car fright train can't catapult to 60mph, that same logic can be said in GM about turn billions in profit. But it's a start.

GM is a private business... if they go under because they suck at what they do..... then they deserve too.. It's not like the United states needs them.... there a freaking car company screw them... let them pay for there mistakes...

This is such BS..... what the hell was the government thinking? If you added the money the government gave them to there net worth.... GM still had a negative net forth in the billions.... WTF.. it doesnt make scenes..

I dont remember the exact numbers but it a company has a negative net worth of 30 billion and on the verge of bankruptcy .... why the hell would you give them 10 billion? That just makes them worth negative 20 billion and they still go under.... you just threw your money away and you would have to F-ing knew that was what you where doing.....

Re: American Capitalism Gone With a Whimper

"DETROIT - General Motors dealers in the United States delivered 191,875 vehicles in May, down 29.6 percent compared with a year ago. However, when comparing GM's May sales with April, total volume was up 11 percent, or about 19,000 cars, crossovers and trucks resulting in the best monthly sales performance so far in 2009."

"GM total truck sales (including crossovers) of 110,866 were down 22 percent, and car sales of 81,009 were off 38 percent compared with a year ago."

so what i got from that is yes were selling more then last month but were still down roughly 25% less cars sold then we were selling last year, did they make a profit last year? i thought they lost money last year. so even though they sold more cars this month they still are losing money.

goodwrench. you kind of hit on my point. just like a freight train can't catapult to 60mph it takes time same thing with gm. it doesnt take a genuis to find out what it cost gm to stay open for a month or two apparently 50 billions dollars lasts gm about 2-3 months. the goverment had to have known that there was no way gm could stay running even with that 50 billion. so basically that money was just thrown away. i doubt i would have any major issues with lending them money that would have kept them open for the year, enough time to maybe make some real changes. but spending that kind of money just to hold the doors open for the month was a complete waste in my eyes.

Does not most of that money dumped into Gm not pour back into the economy regardless ? Going to employee's, part suppliers etc ? In reality it can be seen as a partial investment.......
