Obama in Mexico-->2nd amendment stuff

Obama stopped in Mexico to speak with their president. One of the main topics was the drug war taking place in and around our borders. 5$ says this will affect gun control in some way..either re-instating the assault rifle ban, or changes to something.

Something does need to be done, but I hope they don't over do it. The last gun show I was at, a guy that could barely speak english was buying 15 AR15 lower receivers. Hell yeah you should be able to own 15 AR's at a time. But, seriously. Who is really going to do that. I own two, and no..it's not enough. But 15 lowers? Buying it in a border town? Paying in cash?

I don't know the solution and honestly I don't think there is a solid one. I just know this is going to affect us law abiding gun owners more than its going to affect the criminals.

The guy buying lowers.......did he get ID'd? Did he go thru a background check? Is he bootlegging them on gunbroker.com or something similar? If he was getting a good deal on them, I would do the same thing. Especially if they are pre-ban lowers, they are a very highly sought item, and most likely he can make double reselling them.

If by some chance he is an illegal, I would say your state laws are lacking. To buy anything like that here in NY, we have to go thru a quick FBI background check. No pass, no guns.

Michigan has the federal NICS (or whatever the hell they call it now) check. It only applies to retailers though. I do believe that if you are selling at a gun show as a business you are required to have a FFL and do the checks.

Obama is not dumb. Now on that note, will he go after the 2A? Damn right he will and his administration is all for it. You do not have to look very hard to see they have a hard on for gun control. Look at past records from him and his admin. Now will he go after this soon? Probably not, reason is his socialist health care and education is not passed yet. The MSM except for FOX has been all over gun propaganda BS. The shootings and the Mexico BS is the fuel they need.

The 2A fight has begun and if you do not see this you are naive and blind. Mexico, shootings, DHS reports, MSM propaganda all are being used to back that firearms are bad and Americans are safer without them BS and the media is ramming it down the throats of the uninformed and uneducated in gun control. Firearm tax, ammo tax, ammo stamping, firearm registration and just a plain AWB or gun ban is coming, guaranteed. If you can not see that you are blind and dumb.

What can we do to help? How about we actually use the laws that is on the books now? I seen a report somewhere there was somewhere along the lines of 6000 laws pertaining to firearms. Do we really need anymore laws? All of the laws on the books now are seriously anti 2A already. Mexico? Well how about we fix the damn border first? Also I think Mexico needs to fix there own problems, we have enough here already.

As for gun shows. If you want to buy a firearm at a gun show, I say we issue a gun sale and buy stamp. This only shows that you have been back ground checked and are legal to purchase or sale firearms. This does not infringe to much on 2A and would act like any permit, hunting, fishing etc. I think we could do this for anyone who wishes to purchase or sale a firearm. This would ease the purchase of firearms from retailers and gun shows since they would not have to do background check every time you buy a firearm. Also I think if you have received your CCW (concealed carry permit) you are automatically issued a purchase/sale stamp.

Anyway I will stop rambling and hope we do not see any firearm bans or more crap on our 2A. All I can tell people is get active in local gun groups and join NRA.

In Mi. a CCW allows you to purchase handguns without a purchase permit. You still have to register it though.

even at gun shows in NY, you have to go thru the FBI background check. They have them right on site, and takes 5 minutes.
