Madonna Adoption

Is this such a huge problem? Celebrities adopting children from impoverished nations? Because I don't think the children mind being plucked from a s***hole of a country where the BEST possible outcome for their future is to be sold into prostitution if they're a girl or work as a street thug if they're a boy. I'm all for the fruity tuty liberal concept of fairness and all that, but we're not talking about Madonna having stepped ahead of the line to adopt a kid from Idaho here, we're talking about her adopting a child who would have died before he hit 37 of starvation or AIDS. Worse, it's being protested by Human Right's Group. WTF?????? She could pull a Mommy Dearest on the kid and still give him a kinder, gentler life than he would have had back home. What the hell are these wacko's protesting? That the kid will be fed and clothed for the rest of his life?

The father gave the kid up because he knew the kid would have a MUCH better life with anyone but himself. That's love. To let someone go because you accept that you can't save/help them and that someone else can. These people are so insane on the concept of fairness that they'd doom children to strave just to make a point.

It's not her fault that Malawi's a country whose situation is so dire that some economist consider it part of the "Fourth" world because it's so dead that it can't even be considered by all accounts to be a "develloping" Third World nation.

This stinks of jealousy, not fairness or human rights.

wackos protest anything because they can, plain and simple.

you know, i love when people like to criticize others about their behavior,
but turn around and do the same freaking thing months later...

Its a shame IMO

Why COULDN'T she have adopted a child from Idaho?

I mean, there are a lot of kids here that need loving familys, and chances are they would auctually know who she is.

Yep...

I'm all for helping people all over, but to me (flame me all you want) its a publicity stunt. I kinda figured Angelina was into it...but Madonna? They, as in celebs, need something to do...take their minds off of nothing.

Madonna is a media whore and her grasp on this fact is slipping.

Sorry, I'm not buying that it's being done for any good reason. Angelina Jolie has got a good bit of credibility in that she's a UN ambassador for peace (as I remember) and she adopted a kid before she had her love-child with Pitt. Madonna is one of the few really big idiots that bit the hand that fed her (remember when Princess Diana died a while ago? Madonna chastised the Papparazzi, and they more or less forgot about her... her career has been tepid ever since), and is going b ack to see if she can do something to bring her career back.

I wonder about what kind of life her own kids have now, let alone what kind of culture shock the kid is going to go through.

But then again, what kid wouldn't want a mom who mock-sturbates on stage, put out a B&D coffee table book, and wants to mock-crucify herself on stage (and basically spit in the face of every one that understands that she's just trying to shock people again and revive a flagging career).

I don't think that any celebrity should be treated any differently than anyone else that wants to adopt a child, look within your own nation first.
