'Jesus Camp' Depicts Young Soldiers of God
Film About Extreme Bible Camp Is Fueling Controversy Over Evangelical Christians

Sept. 27, 2006 — The documentary "Jesus Camp" is sparking debate with its portrayal of evangelical Christians and an extreme Bible camp.
Kids on Fire, a summer getaway for evangelical Christians, is a Bible camp nestled in Devil's Lake, N.D.
At Kids on Fire, children learn how to be true Christian soldiers.
Instead of telling ghost stories around the campfire, children speak in tongues and bless a cutout of President Bush.
Pastor Becky Fischer, the camp's leader, says the point of the camp is to encourage attendees to "take back America for Christ."
"I want to see young people who are as committed to the cause of Jesus Christ as the young people are to the cause of Islam," she said.
At Kids on Fire, it's all Christian values, all the time.
Even Harry Potter doesn't make the cut.
One little boy said he didn't read the books because they were Satanic and didn't bring him closer to God.
No Harry Potter, but Plenty of Politics
While Potter is not OK, politics are — conservative and Christian.
Issues like abortion are discussed, and political protests become field trips for the campers.
"I feel like we're kind of being trained to be warriors, only in a much funner way," one camper said.
Some less-extreme Christians, including radio talk-show host Mike Papantonio, fear the children at Kids on Fire are being used as political pawns by adults with an agenda.
"There is a religious, political army of foot soldiers out there that are being directed by a political right," Papantonio said.
Camp founders insist they are doing God's will: to save lives and souls.
"Jesus Camp" opened in limited release on Sept. 20.
Some Christian conservatives hope their message will get out with the gradual nationwide release of the documentary, one movie theater at a time.

"Kids on FIRE" sounds like a suicide bomb group. Welcome to America, tomorrows Iraq.

We may not agree with what they're doing, I sure don't, but they're not doing anything illegal. That's the great thing about our country, everyone has the absolute right to believe anything they want, even if others don't agree with it.

They can run their pathetic mouths all they want - as long as they don't DO anything violent, anything that violates anyone's rights(which DOES NOT INCLUDE the so called "right to not be offended"), or anything otherwise illegal etc etc - which they have done in the past, but I haven't heard anything in recent history.zero wrote:GAM (The Kilted One) wrote:Extremism by any other name.

Believing is fine. The KKK want you to believe they're all about State's rights, gun ownership rights and your right to own property. This organisation is a borderline cult, and is really no better than one you'd see in the mid-east.
The problem is that this "camp" has a peculiar similarity to one that happened to be in Texas. Kids on Fire is rather apropos.

Harry Potter is satanic? Then Pinoccio, Snow White, Fantasia, The Incredibles, Cinderella must all be satanic too, although none of my kids started drawing pentograms after seeing them. We also didn't sacrifice any animals after visiting Santa or the Easter Bunny.

When I checked out the trailer for the movie, I saw kids age 4 and 5 saying that they were saved and then they were preaching in front of hundreds of crying children. How can someone as young as 5 even realize the importance of "being saved"? How many of those crying children in the crowd were just doing it cuz they didn't know what else to do?

Yeah, they are just submitting to peer pressure... the kids see everyone else crying and having convulsions they think they have to do it to. If you start this religious brainwashing at an early age then you will be able to control your kids. It is all an agenda for these adults and their cults.
It must be a cult because the adults come up with all of these "rules" that has nothing to do with God or the Bible... but has alot to do with what the parents want for their children. They tell them to wear nothing shorter than a knee-skirt, tell them that co-ed living is evil, tell them that movies and TV are evil, and make them so God-fearing that they stay naive virgins until they are 30 and married. These kids do not question this lifestyle since they've been groomed in it for their entire life... they can not say the grass is greener on the other side because they are blind to it.

Look for these kids to grow into adults who shoot up abortion clinics or drink the magic kool-aid to ride the comet. All in the name of Jesus...
