I love how the media likes to compare Obama to Martin Luther King Jr. and Honest Abe. These two men were two of the most respectable men who ever walked the face of the planet! Obama is not! He will never be. His ethics are totally opposite. The only thing he has in common with MLK is he is part black. Lets give credit where credit is due and not try to sweeten up the appearance of our new president. To compare Obama with either man is a disgrace and should be made against the law punishable by a swift kick in the nuts followed by decapitation.
Truth. Obama is not a savior. Not yet at least. If he turns your country around, or makes a strong effort to do so, since it's not totally up to him, then he'll get credit. If he starts needless wars and runs your deficit to $598 trillion, then I'll remember him as a loser who should rot in hell for saying he's bring change to a people who need it. People have to stop labeling him a hero before he even does anything.

Agreed although the flipside to this is IF and that is a big if the media ever turns on him he could be so screwed. Though it is hard to say with how politically correct the media is.

SO how many of you know that MLK cheated on his wife and was not always the GREAT man people think of him as. Yes the civil rights movement that he spear headed was wonderful. However it was not just him there were others many others who spoke and who simply fought the system at the time. He gave speeches and got people to move. That is all and great but he was not the only one.
The heralders of Obama will compare him with ANYTHING that links him to being black and slavery and what not forever since he has yes unfortunately made history. Funny thing though you don't hear a whole lot about his drug usage as a problem.
I must now wait and see what he will do because I didn't vote for him. He has proven himself just slightly. He may lift the ban on gays in the military which means that people who have been clambering for their rights will now have the chance to protect them. Relating the the Mayan Calendar, the end of their calendar isn't supposed to be the end of the world, its just the end of their calendar - which then starts over. Much like how 11:59PM(that's 2159 for you Taetsch) is the end of the day, but the clock just rolls over to start the next day.

Its good enough to me if they at least give it there all to succeed. I think far too many minorities don't make the full effort because they think they are doomed to failure anyways - since they think "the man is gonna hold me down." If they see Obama and think they now can actually succeed if they try(which was just as true before he got elected), then they might actually try at least. I think the only benefit minorities are gonna see out of the Obama presidency is a psychological one - but its a much needed one IMO.
